MODEM FOR JORNADA 720 [HP Jornada 720 Pocket PC - 101294]

I purchased an HP Jornada 720 some years ago which has served me well, but unfortunately my version does not have a built in modem. What options are open to me to enable an internet browsing and e-mail connection? Secondly how best to transfer data between the Jornada and a laptop without using the activesynch software? Data card?

This is going to sound like a proper fob off but believe me it's not. If you have a look at: http://www.expansys.com/accessory.asp?code=PCS-PDA-0102&atype=Modems&count=3 You'll find a list of accessories which include modems and ethernet cards. In here, you'll have an option for connectivity to the internet, and also there's something in there for connectivity to ethernet. This would be an alternative method of transferring data. Hope this helps!! :p
Many thanks. I will investigate. What I should have said was that my HP is the 710, not the 720 which is why a modem was not a standard fit. DW

Failing that, this may be of use - upgrade to the 720, currently at 99p!! http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/HP-Jornada-720-PCA-mainboard-also-710-728_W0QQitemZ5809239215QQcategoryZ3734QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem#ebayphotohosting Hope this helps!! :p
I use the infrared connection all the time and its great. A lot less fiddly and time consuming than the docking cradle. However, you do have to have a PC or laptop that has infrared facility.
