I am probably a bit thick - but I hope someone can help. I recently downloaded PocketDVD so i can convert DVD films to WMV7 files for playing on my Jornada. Problem is, the media player only plays audio. Is there a Windows Media Player for the 720 that plays video. Please help!!! Or maybe a dvd conversion programme to mpeg format. Then I could use Pocket TV? Could I. Basically, please help find the best way of getting films onto the jornada. Thanks.

HELP! I just recieved a Jornada 720. My husband plans to use it for his home inspection service. I have a few questions concerning the handheld: 1. Will it track appointments? 2. Can you organize client information? 3. What are some interesting things I should know about this HHPC? What can it do? 4. Is it obsolete? I want to know if it is worth sinking money into. 5. If it is...what is available for the Jornada (software, accessories) I apologize for all of the questions.. I am new to the handheld PC. I just want to know if it is more than a simple organizer.

You might do some searching for software. I found a pretty good source at http://www.hpc.net/. The beauty of the HP 720 is the keyboard, colored screen, and windows compatibility. You might try some favourite program from your desktop and see if it will run. The HP 720 is definitely dated. The 720 made its debut in the Fall of 1999. But... it still has a lot of life in it. Good Luck, John

Thank you for the reply John! I will check the site out. Are they upgradeable? I keep seeing advertisements stating that you can send them in for upgrading. Sorry to bombard you with questions! Lisa

Lisa, There are several sites, though I'm doubtful as to the value of memory upgrade. http://www.expansys.com/product.asp?code=105658 UK=pound payment Its a great site though, and it has a USA equivalent. Look at menu at top of pg. How one guy did it; its a little dated though: http://deliverator.silverfir.net/?p=256 Perhaps the best, so far....... http://www.memoryx.net/hepajo720me.html John

Old post; but for anyone who is still looking you can use TCPMP (The Core Media Player) for video playback on your Jornada 720 and many other handhelds/smartphones. It's freeware and is available through Handheld Underground (www.handheldunderground.com. Hope this helps :).
