On dual SIM capability [Sony Xperia XA Dual F3116 - 288273]

Good day,

Let's say 2 cards are inserted into the phone, and SIM #1 is being used for data/Internet in 4G/LTE network.

The question is: what mode SIM #2 will operate - will it switch to 2G/GSM only or 3G/UMTS?

Thank you for the reply!

P.S. I understand that in case SIM #1 being used for data, then SIM #2 is being used only for calls. Just would like to confirm the mode SIM #2 can operate. For example, Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 with MediaTek 6797 (Helio x20) allows SIM #2 to operate in 3G/UMTS for calls while SIM #1 is used for data/Internet in 4G/LTE network.

As far as our understanding of the dual SIM usability on the Sony Xperia XA F3116, it doesn't matter if your second SIM is 3G or 2G for voice call.

According to the user guide of the Sony Xperia XA Dual SIM about Using multiple SIM cards, as long as one SIM is selected for handling data traffic, the other SIM will only handle incoming/outgoing calls. It can be 3G/2G depending on your SIM card services.

P.S. We sold hundreds of Sony Xperia XA Dual F3116 to Japan in the past months, none of them has ever been reported any connectivity issue with the JP networks :-)
